Today marks the 18th day of my “Kill Fatty” plan and I weight 324.8 pounds. Those of you following along at home may notice that’s a bit higher than my Saturday weight of 323. I’m thinking that 323 was one of those weird scale anomolies instead and of weighing myself again for accuracy, I jumped on that shit with vigor.

So I really haven’t lost any weight for 7 days or so, which completely sucks. I appear to be doing everything right:

  • Eating within the low carb diet plan
  • Walking 2 miles at lunch every day
  • Snacking sensibly
  • Drinking a crapload of water

Yet, I am still not losing the weight. That being said, I appear to be losing weight. My clothes are fitting better, my belt is now on it’s first hole and I just look a bit thinner. I can see veins I haven’t seen in a while, feel bones I didn’t remember were there. So generally, it’s looking good, I just need to start seeing it on the scale.

I’m confident that I will though.

    1) The proof is in the pants! The scale is not always the best tracker, another way to track is by taking measurements.

    2) Try weighing yourself at the same time of day each time. Your weight can fluctuate up to 2 pounds a day.

    3) Walking again after work, will help get you past the plateau faster.

Again, the proof is in the pants! As long as your clothes are getting bigger, you’re going in the right direction. You’re doing great, keep it up!

If you’re drinking a ‘crapload of water’, remember that a gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds.

Definitely weigh yourself only in the morning after going to the bathroom – for fun, weigh yourself before and after!

Also, a little up and down is normal. You only have to look at the long-term trend.

Hang in there Mark! I never lose on the scale and inches at the same time. Some folks stop seeing the scale go down and like you, their clothes start feeling bigger. I’m like that and it can be frustrating. However you’re losng, like Brian said, small ups and downs are normal. Hang in there and you’ll start losing again! You’re doing great!

Hang in there! I was 285 just before Thanksgiving and I am 235 now. It has taken a LOT of hard work and all that jazz. A agree with the above. The proof is in the pants! Keep up the good work, it will pay off in the end.

Hi Mark. Long time no talk. A lot of my friends are trying that P90X or whatever it is. I heard it’s pretty hard core. I know you know this but muscle weighs more than fat so that might be why you see a change in how your clothes fit but not what the scale says. It takes time. Trust an old lady.

I TRULY believe that scales are EVIL and don’t help you in the pursuit of living a healthier lifestyle at alllll! Mostly, people just become obsessed with checking their weight everyday. I go by how I feel and how my clothes fit. It’s a lifestyle change and it doesn’t happen fast.
Good luck and stick with it! Pitch the scale too!
