My favorite knife company, New West Knifeworks, has sent me a set of their gorgeous steak knives to give away to you, my faithful and loving readers. These knives are, to be frank, the shit. They retail for $59 each and might be the highest quality knives you ever touch. The Japanese steel blades have an extremely high carbon level which allows them to take (and keep) a much finer edge than even the best cutlery. And you can see how beautiful those handles are.
This is going to be a winner takes all event. You get both knives with the protective leather sheaths.
How do you win? Just leave a comment in the comments section. The contest will last from now until 1/29/10 at 5:00.

The picture won’t load for me, but I’ll try for them anyway. I can use some good knives.

How could your culinary prowess not increase after using a set of these knives? You wouldn’t want to be known as “the dude that won the knives, but can’t cook his way out of a paper bag”

Beautiful!

Hot for knives!
January 25th, 2010 at 5:37 pm
I’ll holla..!
I’d like to go on the record as saying that these are indeed the most beautiful knives I have ever seen. And as I don’t currently own steak knives of any kind, they would have a place of honor in my kitchen. I would even go so far as to say that I would serve steak more often, just to have an occasion to whip out these bad boys and have the kind of peak experience that Zen masters only dream about…! I will even come and get them, and save you the bother of packing and mailing…not to mention the superstition that surrounds knives changing hands; more on that if I win…

Gotta have’em! My wife and I both cut our fingers on currently unsharpened knives. I could sharpen them myself – but this is the better way to go! Please, SOF!!! Save Our Fingers!
Love the blog. Still have the day job?

These are so sweet looking…the color combo reminds me of the tropics. Why, I’d be tempted to wear these as earrings, they are so dern perty!

Those knives would bring me great joy. Cutting fat off a nice piece of meat would be so satisfying, I probably wouldn’t be able to eat since I’d be so overcome by the feel of beauty.

Hello, I really enjoy your blog. Thanks for all of your recommendations. If it were not for you, I would have never stopped at Scooters Dawg House. And to think that I had been driving past it for years. As for El Senor’s at La Mexicana Grocery… Oh man – now I want a chorizo taco!
Concerning your continuing search for great pizza joints… you should give Mama Primozz in Eastlake a try. This has been our favorite for years. While you’re in the neighborhood you could stop at Biagio’s doughnuts – the best.
