This is our first giveaway of the new 2009 Our Town and All Around Coupon book, so make sure to leave your entry in the comments for a chance to win.
Gather a bunch of chefs together and the question is bound to come up: You’re on death row, its time for your last meal, what do you choose?
I’ll go first.
I’d choose roasted Yukon gold potatoes, braised short ribs, chorizo tacos (cilantro & onion), dried cranberries and a Pepsi.
What about you? Leave your choice for last meal in the comments. Everyone who does will be entered into the giveaway for the coupon book. I will pick one at random to be the winner. Northeastern Ohio people only please.
We’ve got a winner. Stay tuned though as we have a bunch more to give away in the next few weeks.

Mmmm I’d start with raspberry brie en croute, followed by my creamy carrot soup with a crusty bread bowl (i’m obviously assuming i have super stomach stretching powers here!), a really fresh salad with mixed greens, walnuts, goat cheese, fruit, and a vinaigrette, paneer tikka masala, saag paneer, naan, and for dessert some homemade bread pudding or creme brulee. I know its a weird mix of stuff, but its the stuff I love the most

Since I am allergic to shellfish, my last meal would definitely consist of something crustacean. And hopefully it’s all wrapped up in an awesome enchilada.

I’d start with 2 chorizo mini-tacos with a sharp mole sauce. Next would either be a bacon-burger from Tony’s in Frankenmuth (half-pound of perfectly cooked thick bacon on each burger!) or a small bacon-burger from Five Guys with jalapenos, grilled onions, and mushrooms, accompanied by a couple steins of Rocky River Brewery’s Oompa-Loompa Chocolate stout. The fish course would be shrimp/andouille jambalaya and a small bowl of gumbo, with more Oompa-Loompa. Dessert would be rod pretzels with melted chocolate for dipping, and ice-cold chocolate milk.

Wash it all down with Christmas Ale

It’s a toss up between white pizza from Jimmy Daddona’s or palabok (Filipino noodle dish) from Nipa Hut (since my grandma is no longer here to make it for me!)

Wow, hopefully a question I’ll never have to answer. But if I do, it will definitely include pork!

A salad consisting of mache, boston lettuce, cranberries, gorgonzola, walnuts, various veggies and a red wine vinagrette dressing. Then my favorite Aunt’s Maultaschen (Germany’s answer to ravioli or peirogi), Spatzle with Sauerbraten and red cabbage. I would end with homemade chocolate pudding with vanilla sauce and raspberries, and of course a shot of Kirshwasser to ease my bloated, aching tummy.

Yum!

Since it’s my last meal and I love seafood, I’d have to go with an authentic prepared paella. This would have a few of my own additions of course, Lobster meat would have to be added and the saffron would have to be freshly picked that day as well as the rest of the ingredients. Served with the finest French wine.

Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label Champagne and imported French pate served with fresh, thinly sliced baguette toasts, cornichons, and whole grain mustard. Salad of arugula, goat cheese and pears (finish the champagne). Seared halibut in a curry, cream sauce with Guwertztraminer. Spice-rubbed grilled pork tenderloin with a spicy tomato sauce and Pinot from Wilamette Valley. Classically prepared Steak Diane with roasted fingerling potatoes and a big, bad Cabernet. Flourless chocolate cake with bacon ice cream (finish the Cab). And finally, rosemary-roasted walnuts and a glass of Fonseca Vintage Port.

My last meal would include Lobster tail and a rack of Lamb. Small whole red potatoes with butter and lemon.
A fresh, cold crisp salad with vinagrette dressing.
A chilled bottle and Moscatto–and chocolate mousse for dessert.
