I found a great place for submarine sandwiches the other day, DiBella’s in Warrensville Heights. It’s located in a small building in the shopping plaza on the corner of Harvard and Richmond. I’ve been there a couple of times now and the place is always buzzing.
While DiBella’s is a chain out of New York, you won’t have to walk through a myriad of pictures with Jared holding up his fat pants to get your fill. Reminiscent of an old style sub shop your called up to the counter to place your order and the crew goes to work assembling it.
You start by picking your roll which I guarantee will be the best damn roll you ever sink your teeth into. I’ll go as far to say that I even considered ordering a vegetarian sub during my second trip so that I could be sure to enjoy the flavor of the roll. Ok, I didn’t consider it for a long time or anything, but the fact the thought crossed my mind should say something.
They offer a variety of hot and cold subs with fresh cut deli meats. I order the Godfather (Salami, Capicola, Spicy Ham) during both of my visits, once hot and once cold. The cold was way better. They don’t “toast” their subs, but instead cook the filings, so the capicola on the Godfather got a bit too chewy for my liking.
Their prices are quite fair too. Their medium sub is close to a foot in length and will only run you $5.89, just $0.50 more for a hot sub. I’m a good eater and I couldn’t even finish an entire medium.
I’d try to avoid the place during the lunch and dinner rush, it is way to crazy and it will take a lot of the enjoyment out of your meal. Go early or better yet, phone your order in by calling 216-378-0783, you’ll be glad you did.
Definitely try DiBella’s though, you haven’t had a sub this good in a long, long time.

I LOVE DiBella’s! There is also a shop in Solon on Aurora Rd near Cochran/Harper. I highly recommend their subs also! Try the spicy mustard on it, sooo good!

Yes. DiBella’s is without a doubt the best damn sub shop around.
The first time I was there, I ordered a large Godfather for lunch, thinking it would be about the same size as a large from Quiznos. It took me the rest of day to eat that sub. And I enjoyed every bite.

Has anyone ever eaten at Alesci’s in Solon? Love the food there and some of the hot chicks who work there. Nothing pleases the senses more than a mouth full of hoagie and an eye-full of hot women.
