Since it only has green chilies, I’m not sure that I’d call this a salsa! Green chilies are good, but they’re not hot. I’d ditch the olives and instead add real chilies (e.g., serrano, jalapenos) as well as chopped cilantro and a little lemon or lime juice.

Brian – If you would rather use fresh produce, of course you can substitute. I normally use the fresh instead of canned, however, this was my friends recipe, and I wanted to make sure it would turn out the same for everyone! If you do make it, let me know what you think.

It does look very gross, but I really liked it. I think everyone should try it at least once. It you don’t like, well.. at least you tried it!

have you tried the salsa from chilli’s fire pit in mentor? my husband is obsessed with that stuff. he puts it on everything. even my lasagna! blech.
