Ok homies, Glittergirl needs your input. She’s getting married. Well, she already got married, but she is having a reception in November for friends and family and she needs a wedding cake.
She asked for my opinion on the subject but seeing as that I like cake about as much as I like herpes, I figured I’d get some suggestions for her.
Requirements: Glittergirl is looking for something different, but not super expensive (that means don’t recommend White Flower). She was thinking of possibly going with Red Velvet, but she’s really looking for bakeries that turn out some good cake.
Leave your suggestions for her in the comments.

WE shopped around quite a bit for our wedding. While we didn’t want a $1,200 cake, we didn’t want Duncan Hines either. After some diligent exploration, we found Cakes By Nadine in Broadview Heights. They were awesome and had a lot of creative design in the cake, it tasted wonderful, and the pricing was very good considering the professional decoration, delivery, and cutting. We even paid to have them stay and cut the cake to be served.

Fragapane’s in North Olmstead did both my sister’s and my wedding cake. I strongly recommend the Italian wedding cake. It has an incredible custard and strawberry filling that is just to die for!!!!!

Hi! I can appreciate your search, we are getting married in August and we looked around quite a bit. We ultimately went with Flour Girl. She’s just starting her own business and her prices are very reasonable so try to get in before the prices go up! Her website is http://www.flourgirl.net . We (and when I say we, I mean me) were looking for cupcakes and she had cute ideas and innovative flavor combinations. Good Luck with your search!

we used Lucky’s/Sweet Mosaic in Tremont for ours. It’s been two years now and people are still talking about it.

We had a lemon cake with raspberry/white chocolate filling from Cakes Plus. They used to be in the Arcade downtown but moved to Rocky River a few years ago. It is some seriously good cake!

wow, thanks for the post and all the responses! we’re going to need to do some serious “taste tests” to decide on which bakery to go with. gosh, won’t that be hard work? (NOT!)

We used Great Scott’s in Rocky River for our wedding cake and people still talk about how delicious it was (just about 4 years). My sister used Scott as well for her wedding and we also buy all of our family birthday cakes there. He does a white cake with raspberry filling that is awesome. But he has lots of flavors and is much more reasonably priced than any other bakery.

I’ve gotta recommend Archie’s Bakery in Euclid. Inexpensive, but fantastic cake. I had it for my wedding and it was 10 times better than any wedding cake I’ve ever had.
