22_caliber_bullet When I was younger Chef Paul Prudhomme was the celebrity chef.  The guy was everywhere.  I remember being so excited because my Dad took us to some thing at the IX Center where he was going to be cooking.  When I finally saw him I was pretty disappointed.  He was so big he had to sit down the entire time he was cooking and he spent every minute pimping some magic sprinkle he developed.

Chef Paul is still whoring out his products and he’s obviously still pretty big.  This week he was cooking at a golf tournament in Lousiana when he was shot:

(H)e heard a kind of "whistley zing" and felt a sting in his arm. Prudhomme shook his shirt sleeve and found a .22-caliber bullet in his long johns.

He wasn’t hurt, not even a scratch where the bullet hit him.  How big do you have to be to be shot and have a bullet bounce off of you?

I can’t imagine two posts less related than this and one about Ferran Adria… I think your interweb she is broken. :)

Actually, he’s lost a ton of weight in the past few years – like almost 300 lbs. of the 560 he used to be. And I would think that the bigger you are, the more you would feel a bullet (extra skin, extra nerves) – it was probably a trajectory thing, and nothing to do with his weight (this coming from a big girl who would know firsthand).

So this “winter weight” of mine might actually save my life one day?

    Nice.
