Garlic has always been my favorite. Whether it is garlic mashed potatoes, garlic bread, roasted garlic or a garlic enema I love garlic any way I can get it. Wait, garlic enema? Umm, maybe not a garlic enema.
There has always been a lot of talk that garlic is good for your health, but now there is actually some evidence of why that is. When researchers added garlic to human red blood cells the cells immediately began emitting hydrogen sulfide. And this may be why a diet rich in garlic helps to prevent cancers.
However, you do need to eat quite a bit of garlic to get this train in motion. Additionally, some special care must be taken when cooking with garlic to get its full benefit.
To maximize the health benefits, you should crush the garlic at room temperature and allow it to sit for about 15 minutes. That triggers an enzyme reaction that boosts the healthy compounds in garlic.
That was something I didn’t know. You can read the rest of the story here.
