Cleveland radio legend, Mike Trivisonno, made mention on his show yesterday that WMMS’ Maxwell made some libelous comments regarding Triv’s restaurant which is owned by Mike’s son. Apparently, last Thursday Maxwell said that he had gotten food poisoning from Triv’s restaurant in Strongsville. Mike mentioned that this was blatantly false and that Maxwell had never eaten at the restaurant. Who’s telling the truth? Who the hell knows. I emailed Triv’s Restaurant to see if they would like to comment, but I have not received any response. If anyone has any more information, please leave it in the comments.
This story brings up a interesting issue for me. I consistently get accused and threatened for the opinions I post on this site, especially those regarding bad experiences I have had at restaurants. While I often use colorful language to describe these events, I have always been completely truthful about my experience. Lying or even exaggeration of events is completely wrong, but more importantly it is unfair to the business owners.
If Maxwell did lie about his experience, he should apologize and hope to hell he doesn’t get sued.

Triv is a wortless horse’s arse who’s ego, believe it or not, is even larger than his gut. Ask Kim Mihalik who was given the boot because her ratings were rising faster and closer to his then what he liked. His day is coming, just like WMMS, and we’ll no longer have to turn away from WTAM in the afternoons. Not to mention in a 60 minute segment his fat mouth is only on the air for maybe 20 minutes, the rest is flag advertisement for Gutter Helmet and Dish One Up.

Libel is in print. Slander is verbal.
That being said, complaining about food or service you didn’t like is different than alleging food poisoning. It’s a free country and you can indeed complain about food or service you don’t like. You can even say you didn’t feel well after eating somewhere. But saying you got food poisoning from an establishment can, no pun intended, bring a swift and unfair death to a restaurant. Many, many, MANY restaurants suffer unfairly because people allege food poisoning when in fact the restaurant is not at fault. People get the 24 hour flu all the time and often think it’s something they ate that made them sick, but unless you a) report it to the restaurant and find there were numerous other similar complaints and b) bring in samples to your doctor for analyzation and the food poisoning is confirmed, it’s just something you should never, never allege as it can unfairly kill a business.

Terry, Kim got fired because she was a greedy pig. You don’t get individual ratings on the radio, just show ratings.

I am a lawyer, and truth is an absolute defense. So, if you are eating in restaurants, and you don’t like their food, you have the right to say what you think. That doesn’t mean that a person won’t sue…people can, and do, sue over anything. They just wouldn’t win.

Maxwell makes up a ton of illnesses just for show. Maxwell is neurotic and probably a hypochondriac. In fact, he used to bash Rover before Rover was on WMMS so that he can get the fire burning between those two. Maxwell is only out to cause trouble and his mouth sure does a lot of talking about other people but I’ll bet you he couldn’t back it up once confronted. I’m not a fan of Triv at all but I could side with Triv on this one after listening to how MAxwell is.

rockandroller is right. Not only is it dangerous and mean to accuse a restaurant of “giving you” food poisoning, it’s also usually just flat out false. You know how you get sick? Improper hygiene. Yeah, you know, wash your hands after you go number 2 kinda thing – with soap. Food poisong will put you in the hospital – other people who ate at the place will also get very sick.

I listened to Maxwell when he made those comments. It was direct retaliation for Triv coming on and sabotaging the traffic report, intentionally sounding like an idiot. After Triv ruined the traffic report, they came back live and started dissing his son’s restaurant. But, if a tree falls in the forest and only a 4 share hear it, does it make a sound??? Go Rover

Mike SR and JR are both a bunch of pigs. they both run there mouth way to much when they dont have much to back it up. there ego is to big for there own good. the only reason JR is anything is because of his father and the only reason his father is anything is because he got lucky with a hot job. i particularly dislike JR. more. his restraunt is a nothing but a hole in the wall. Word is, hes a massive penny pincher. apparently he switched food ordering companies to Cisco, yet kept the same high prices. i wanted to take home some bread one night with my left overs and i was only allowed one peice because i didnt pay for it, it was free. he drinks constantly and gets verry sloppy and grossly obnoxious. he should honestly just close up shop and choose a new profession, that is if he has any other talents (highly doubtful!)

I have no vendeda against Trivs (mike Jr or Sr) I just know I coulden’t wait to go in there for dinere so my kids took me in for mother’s Day. When we entered the place Mike Jr was standing there with his arms crossed and when we walked right past him he never said ‘Hello, welcome toTrivs, or Thanks for comming Happy Mother”s Day” I was there with my daughter and her 2 teen age children, our check was way over $100.00 for a couple os soups, salads and a so so burger. Did Jr ever come by to wish us a Happy Mother’s Day or even to say “Hi: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. He sat at the Bar and watched TV and drank. Maybe if he cared more abount his restruant and the food served and customers other thab his friends he could go far, Our server was great but that is all I can say. Will not go back to many other places better

There were 6 in our party, the server didn’t get the order right for one guest in our party, and when asked how the salmon was coming along, she stated that it was never ordered. The rudeness is completely intolerable by these amateurs; the biggest of all was the owner. He has no clue what customer service is, very unprofessional and a confrontational amateur. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my enemies; hopefully it shuts down soon, and is replaced by a real restaurant.
