I was doing some work with my Flickr account earlier this week when I found this disturbing post:

The Plain Dealer stealing photos right from Flickr accounts? That is totally whack!

I’ve had quite a good number of photographs on Flickr and on this site, all copywrite protected. I’ve had few people using my photographs without authorization, but no one has ever used them for commercial purposes. I’m going to use this as a lesson to keep those photos a bit more protected. So, as of today, you’ll no longer be able to download my large images from Flickr and you’ll soon be seeing some pretty watermarks on the photos I show here.

I can’t blame you a bit. I know most people would be absolutely flattered with a message that says “I really like this photo. May we use it?”. I’d say yes, for sure. But, no one seems to ask, and that sucks.

    That just sucks monkey.

I don’t touch flickr with a ten foot e-pole for just this reason.
