Seems everyone I know is suddenly infatuated with the new Fatburger restaurant in Mayfield Heights. I've personally heard that it was way over-priced, plus they don't have a drive-thru. Now you know what a lazy bastard I am and if I'm gonna get out of my car for a burger, it better be a damn good burger.Â
I had some time to waste before work and I heard Paul Rado on the Mike Trivisonno show saying that Fatburger has recently reduced their prices, so I decided to give Fatburger a try.
Other than some hillbillies that wandered in from Bruswick, I was the only person in the place. I took a minute to review the menu and found it quite obnoxious that everything on their menu was fat. Fatburger, Fatfry, Fatshake, Fatmusic, Fatnapkins, Fatchairs, Fatguy that runs eatingcleveland.com. Now, it would have been cool if the only music they played was the Fat Boys. The Fat Boys were freakin cool!
I went with the Fat Deal ($6.99) for lunch which is comprised of a 1/3lb. Fatburger with everything on it, Fatfries and a regular pop. I must say that the burger was delicious. It was an all beef burger that just leaked grease, the way a good burger should. I was quite impressed with the Fatburger, much better than I expected.
Although a lot of people think that Fatburger is expensive I can't find myself agreeing. The way I look at it is this: A burger meal at McDonald's will run you $5.85, but its complete garbage. If you go to a sit down restaurant with good burgers you're going to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $10.00 for a meal. Well, Fatburger's quality is right in between the two and so are their prices. Makes sense to Paul Rado. Makes sense to me too.
