See that address up there? Yeah, that should have been a sign. Jason, Amanda and I wanted to try the Mexican place in downtown Geneva, but apparently whoever owns the place has more important things to do than open their restaurant. I swear to R.Kelly that place is never open! How frustrating! Since that joint wasn’t open we decided to scour the culinary Mecca of Ashtabula County, Geneva, for a place to dine. I think the car may have broken down or something because we ended up at Mary’s Diner.
First thing I have to say about Mary’s is that their waitress Dee needs to cut back on the coffe/Red Bull or whatever it was causing her to act so spastic. She scared the hell out of me.
Jason ordered the nacho fries, but to be honest I was more impressed with the Cavaliers Finals performance. They were just plain bad. Jason was disgusted by the addition of black olives, but he’s a sissy so we can’t hold that against them. I think we all agreed though, the nacho fries were less than appealing.
For lunch I ordered the Pot Roast Melt ($5.99) and it came with chips, but chips are for Communists, so I added on a side of fries. After the poor performance from the nacho fries I wasn’t expecting much from the Pot Roast Melt. And that’s a good thing, because at the very least, I wasn’t disappointed. It was terrible. It had absolutely no flavor whatsoever and the meat comprising the sandwich was either chewy or fatty. Mmm, fatty-meat sandwich.
Finally, to round out this wonderful experience I go up to pay my bill and Dee steps up to check me out. She completely ignored me. Just grabbed my card, ran it and threw the receipt at me to sign. Thanks Dee, you rock babe!
