Alright, seeing as that I gave one of my favorite restaurants in the entire world 1 perogi last week I thought I needed to give it another try. I went back to Smokey Bones in Mentor last Friday and I was please with the outcome this time, to say the least. We got there at 9:00 and it was still packed, but I guess that is a good sign. Even at that time the wait was 45 minutes, but a couple of tall Coors Lights helped to pass the time. The bad part about waiting at the bar for a table is that the bartenders bug the crap out of you to eat there. No thanks. I know they want the tips, but let me enjoy my beer while I wait for a seat. I didn't come here to argue about where I am going to eat. After 40 minutes or so we were seated in the front of the restaurant. Although the waitress gave us menus, I didn't need one. I already knew what I was getting. One of my favorite meals in the whole world, the #3. The number #3 consists of pulled pork, a half a slab of ribs and two sides. I chose broccoli for both of my sides. I know, I'm weird, but I love broccoli. Not to mention that Smokey Bones' broccoli is out of this world. Our waitress was kind of a putz, but I wouldn't say that she was bad. She could have done a lot better than she did, we'll leave it at that. The meal was fabulous. Their ribs and pulled pork are so good. We don't get a lot of good smoked meat up here in Cleveland, so you need to take advantage of it when you can. Oh, one thing I should mention, it costs like $2 to upgrade from the St.Louis style ribs to the baby-back ribs, do it. Don't even think about it, just do it. One time I went there late in the evening and they had run out of baby-back ribs so I was forced to get the St.Louis style, I wouldn't feed those to my dog. Not that they are bad, but they couldn't carry the baby-back ribs' jock strap. Their smoked meat is top notch, give it a try.
